About Me

My name is Emily, I am an twenty-year old living in Waco, Texas (I'm in college now!). I started getting into photography when I was about twelve, when I bought my first digital camera, a little red Nikon Coolpix that was all the more dear to me because I saved up for it and bought it with my own money. I took my camera everywhere, and started getting interested in the more specific varieties of photography, like macro pictures and portraits. I got really serious a few years ago, when I got my first DSLR, my precious Nikon D5100. I learned everything I know about photography from Digital Photography School, a website with articles appropriate for everyone from "What's shutter speed?" to people making a living with their cameras.

My life has changed a bit since coming to Baylor. College is wonderful and overwhelming, and any spare time I have is usually used to either relax or catch up with old friends. Right now, I just don't have much time for photography. I've found a new home church, so I spend Sundays and Wednesdays (and a lot of other days, too) with my new church family (see My Faith for details on how important God is to me). So I don't have the leisure to study photography whenever I want or just drop everything and drive to an obscure location for a photoshoot. I miss it, but I'm in a different stage of life right now, and I still love photography.
